So much to do, so little time

Ever get into something and before you know it you have tons of other projects just piling on top of the one you've already started? I never knew that when I took my current job a year ago that I would be in this situation. When I started I knew I was going to be in charge of designing labels, catalogs, flyers, etc... and I knew that I'd have to provide technical support to the employees in the field when they come across computer problems and such. I never thought that I'd have so much to do that I'd feel like my wheels are constantly spinning.

I come to work Monday thru Friday, 8-5 and recently I haven't been taking much of a lunch break. I have hundreds of labels that need to be created for our private label brand of nails and staples, I've been in the process of designing a website and catalog for the company for months but keep getting other projects that are more important, and now we have two locations that will be moving from one building to another building at the same time. That means I have to plan to move all of the computer equipment, get all of the internet and phone wiring in place, make sure all locations are fully functional simultaneously until the moves are complete, travel from location to location, update some equipment at locations that have yet to be updated.... all while doing my daily every duties. It's an on going process of running in circles and it's gets very tiresome.

When I'm home it seems like I do the same thing every evening. I watch a little TV to wind down a bit, if I'm feeling good I'll run a few miles (which really loosens me up and gets my mind off of everything else), some times I do yard work, but that's a never ending battle, and if my wife is in a good mood I spend time with her by doing what else but watching a movie or a television program. BLAH!

I'm stuck in a rut and need to make some changes. Starting yesterday I'm jogging 5 miles a day. Starting today, I'll be asking for a raise and more quality time with my better half. Spending time with her while watching movies is fine and everything but sometimes I just feel lazy doing that. I think if start to do productive tasks together I'll enjoy our time together more. That way when it comes time to lounge around and watch a movie or television program it's far more rewarding.
